Power of Advertising

My opinion of ads is divide mostly do to the types of things I like to do. For movie and game ads are usually straight forward and give snap shoots of what the item being advertise is, like wither its a comedy or action movie. However the most ads I just don't get or don't like are the product and market ads like for shampoo, eyeliners, drinks, cars, and many others since many recent ads on TV just don't make any sense into how they relate to their product they're trying to sell, like for example the Old Spice ads that feature weird scenes and effects that somewhat make sense but overall I'm starching my head for why did they do that, its those type of ads that just seem senseless. However advertisements that do a good job and show examples of their products often get a lot consumers to buy and use their products. Its one of the main spending ventures that many companies invest in so as to make sure they can reach out and ensure they have a steady supply of buyers with old companies like ford and coca cola still being around shows that advertisement is very powerful thing to use and have.

Book for Generations

If I had to choose a book to save against all others it would have to be a History book. The main reason I want a history to be the only book left is to teach the survivors about where they came from and what the world was like before everything came crashing down. The other reason is to ensure they don't repeat the mistakes that their ancestors took that lead to the apocalypse.

Favorite Movie

My Favorite movie would have to be Alien Vs. Predator Movie by 20th century Fox studios in the year 2004. Its my favorite due to my love of the Alien and Predator movies and games. The movie was very good with a good mix of action and horror elements in it, though leaning more on action. The characters were very well designed and I was very surprised that one part of a major faction in the Franchise was used in the modern area before its future role and of the setting they chose. Which the reason why I think, from I can link from my expercnise in the previous games and movies, was to be compatibly to the continuity of that universe so that it didn't interfere with the already made movies and games. Overall it was a great movie to watch and I often watch again sometimes do to how good it is. 

    Technology has become a part of everyday society. Technology exists to either be solutions to problems that mankind faces, or to supplement existing solutions. I think that many of the great world powers citizen take for granted the benefits they receive due to the amount of technology in those nations.
   For the most part technology is focused on helping people. This can be to help people communicate with each other with use of satellites, cell phones, video chat, and the internet to stay in touch in minutes, when it took weeks or months before the aforementioned  technology came about. New medical machines and technology has improved the lifespan of people from around 40 years old to around 80 years old, as while as help people survive from various injuries.
   Overall, I think that technology has really improved people's lives for the better. While there is some bad technologies out there, like nuclear weaponry, and many people get addicted to some technologies, the mainstream of technology is around to help solve problems that everybody faces.

Recently I've gotten involved with an interesting game called Dreamlords. This game is a combination of Real-time strategy and an Massively Multiplayer online games. It caught my attention when I was surfing the web for some interesting things to read, and the idea that I could mange many aspects of the game on a Web browser and the theme has me hooked. overall the game is pretty good, and the staff are constantly releasing events for players and creating new items for us, the players, to use in game. The game has play sessions called eras, now each ear lasts two months in time. At the start of each era we choose one of three races to play, each race is the same except for advantages they have for specifics like some have better defense values, while others have better speed and melee value. We build an empire during each era and fight the monsters of different areas to claim territory for our civilizations. Players can cooperate with each by joining guilds called convergences to play for Player-VS-Player lands for bonuses for our guild. once an era ends we start over again the next era, but some items like gear for our Dreamlord Avatars are persistent over each era, one of the most important items are traits. Traits are the skills tree for Dreamlords and they give bonuses we can use, to get traits we must progress our empires in each era, thus the more eras players play through the more powerful our dreamlords and their empires become. I think that this is an interesting game to try out since its free and people can play at their own pace, which is one thing I love most about the game.

Facebook post

I’m not a facebook user for a simple reason. Its because I just don’t have a need or want to go on facebook. I have nothing against people on facebook, since I think it’s a great way to find friends, keep in touch with others around the world, as well as express your thoughts on some things. Though I think that some people are becoming addicted to it and need to moderate their facebook activities with reality. Also my feelings on Employers on facebook, well that’s mixed up, on one hand they can learn more about employees to hire and learn about their personalities and traits, however on the other hand it doesn’t give them a good clear picture about the person their viewing since are work and causal llives are usually completely different from each other. Also about the Media and Businesses joining onto facebook is very simple really, they want feedback from the people who use their services/products  and how they reacted to them so they can change something or improve an aspect of that service/product. These are my thoughts on facebook, overall it’s a pretty nice social networking site from what I’m hearing a lot about it.

My Major

   My college major is in Mechanical Engineering. I choose this field because I feel like I could do work that I really love to do. There are several things I feel make me more suited to this major. One is that I love to do things with my hands and another is that I'm good in math calculations due to a need of them for engineering. Once I graduate I plan on staying in Dayton. This is due to my family always moving around, so I find the chance to settle down a good choice for me. I think the prime ideal employment situation would be in a factory, mostly likely a automotive factory, but I can never be to sure of what employment opportunities I could have or find.
